Voronoi

Inspired by Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation's Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics Collection and produced by the artist collective oddviz, Voronoi brings together 150 objects selected from the collection. In the making of the Voronoi, the selected objects produced between the 18th and 20th centuries were 3D modeled and digitized using photogrammetry technique, and presented using a contemporary and digital language. Focusing on the points of contact between the physical and digital, and the fluid flow between them, Voronoi also comments on cultural heritage preservation and conservation, passing heritage to upcoming generations, and the role that museums play throughout these processes. The art project takes its title from the mathematics function that allows the digital breaking of the modeled objects.

The video can be viewed at Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics Collection gallery between the dates 3 March - 25 October 2020 at Pera Museum in Istanbul.
